Description

Rare and unusual, Romneya coulteri (also known as the Californian Tree Poppy) produces voluminous, crepe-paper white poppies with golden-yellow centres. Widley admired for its blooms, it begins flowering in early July and goes on until the autumn producing some of the largest flowers in the poppy family – up to 15cm (6in) in width.
With its divided, grey-green leaves this native of dry coastal Californian scrubland is hardy and will die down in winter, and although slow to get established, it's vigorous once it's happy.
An excellent specimen plant for a sunny mixed border, Romneya is fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come.
Supplied as 3 x established plants in 9cm pots, ready to plant out, growing to a height of 2.5m (8.2ft).
